Our Simple Process

To begin, please send me an email or message me on Instagram to enquire.

1. Booking Once we agree on a date that works for you, we’ll securely reserve your booking and confirm all the details.
2. Consultation You’ll receive a helpful online styling and preparation guide. I also provide a selection of cake smash outfits available in the studio (included with your booking).
3. Session Day We’ll create beautiful cake smash memories during your private session in my studio in West Byfleet.
4. Your Images You’ll receive your finished images in a personalised online gallery where you can easily download them. You’ll also get a custom mobile app gallery, perfect for viewing and sharing with family and friends on your phone.

The cake smash includes Marni’s time, talent and editing time. The session fee does NOT include the giant cupcake.

We will email you our cake smash session guide when you book. This covers everything from how to prepare, the photo session and what to bring.

About the cake

We do not provide the Giant Cupcake you can bring your own cake on the day or if you want us to provide one we can at an additional cost.

On the day of your appointment, we start out with some family photos prior to the cake smashing. Photographs are taken during this time. From there, we introduce the cake and this is where the magic happens. Your baby is allowed to make a mess with their birthday cake, hence the “smashing.” We then end it with a bath session and you may decide to have water in the bath or not.

A cake smash session usually takes an hour to complete.

Due to the popularity of these photo shoots, it is recommended that you schedule as much in advance as possible to ensure the best time slot for you. Many clients like booking prior to the first birthday party so they can make cards or invitations to the actual party.

Your name, child’s name, who is accompanying you for the shoot and contact information. Also, if you need anything supplied, please let me know at this time.

I have a selection of outfits for boys and girls to choose from when booking your session.

Something comfortable.  While I have clothing for boys and girls, you can bring your own costume for the photo session if you do not want to wear what we have in studio for your little ones. Casual or cute, it’s up to you. Just remember that this clothing is going to be covered in icing. So don’t bring anything that will stain or get ruined easily.

You can view your image from the comfort of your own home via your own private online gallery and to download from approximately 3 weeks after your session.

If you want to use the photos for the Birthday invitations, you will receive the first 2 digital photo files within 2 days after the photo shoot via online gallery.

This cake smash session celebrates your little one as the star of the show. Parents and siblings are warmly welcome to join for family images in the packages that include them.

I do not currently provide or sell my raw or unedited images.

A £50 non-refundable booking fee secures your booking and this is deducted from the final cost of your chosen package.
